‘F*ck Off’: Macy Gray Lashes Out As Criticism & ‘Threats’ Over Her Anti-Trans Comments Continue

Published: Wednesday 6th Jul 2022 by Rashad

‘Sweet Baby’ singer Macy Gray struck a sour chord with the LGBTQ+ community and their allies over the holiday weekend (to say the least) when she took to an interview with Piers Morgan to assert her belief that “just because you go change your parts, doesn’t make you a woman.”

Inciting a fast and furious fallout as a result, Gray has yet to apologize for the comment but did take to press just a day later to say her statement was taken out of context and ‘grossly misunderstood.’

And while the mild backtrack did earn sympathy in some corners including a notable nod from ‘Harry Potter’ author JK Rowling who suggested she was willing to help the GRAMMY winner through the backlash, the overall sentiment remains one of disdain for Macy.

Fed up with the hoopla, the songstress took to Twitter Wednesday (July 6) to impart a stern clap back to detractors.

Amid ongoing backlash for her comments perceived by many to be ‘transphobic,’ Gray hopped online Wednesday afternoon (July 6) to share her thoughts on those who are keeping her name trending.

“All of you coming on my page, threatening me and calling me names – just because I said something you don’t agree with – be whatever you wanna be, and fk off,” she said.

The post is one of many the 54-year-old has made in her own defense as she fields criticism for the untimely statement, which came just days after the end of Pride Month 2022.

Again…Everyone who agreed w/ Macy need step up and defend her. So far only 1 individual has done so.

If she’s unable to recover from the backlash, it’s going to make others steer clear from the topic altogether.

Most people are siding with Macy if social media is any indication, but biased media doesn’t want us to recognize it. I agree Macy deserves more support from people who have the platform to be heard.

I hope Macy lets this tweet be the last response. It’s a waste to go back and forth with people who are determined to believe the worst in you. Give it one or two responses and let it go.

She didn’t say anything hateful. She spoke facts. Real grown & mature trans people & lgbtq members know the truth & just want to exist & have rights. That’s it! It’s these little gen z ppl who cry & make a big deal about everything.

Rashad needs to get fired. Anti trans how? Where is your objectivity? Youre entirely too old to be acting like a gen z. Trans women are not women in the biological sense and therefore should not be categorized as women in situations and circumstances where that difference in biology matters and biological womens rights, safety and wellbeing could be compromised i.e toilets, changing facilities, competitive events, employment opportunities or statistics.

Instead of jumping on the bandwagon and blindly backing this misguided agenda simply cos hes lgbt, Rashad needs to derive some strength from his testicles (that im assuming he still has) and have the courage to stand up for whats right even if its currently the unpopular opinion.

Societal acceptance and their unique characteristics being protected and accomodated constitutionally is equality. Lumping them together with biological women where they have intrinsic and therefore unfair advantages over biological women is NOT.

Diminishing the uniqueness and rights of women to empower trans women is not equality its hypocrisy. Do better Rashad. Do better.

Pot meet kettle. You are trying to cancel someone you don’t agree with. The internet has no self awareness.

      • Scoopz July 7, 2022

Im calling on Rashad to stop jumping on the bandwagon and to have the courage to speak out against hypocrisy. How can an oppressed minority be comfortable harassing and bullying others into supporting an agenda that involves the diminishing of the value and rights of another demographic? Thats sheer hypocrisy. When accepting an argument involves the suspension of logic and irrevocable scientific fact in favour of flavour of the month philosophies and social constructs then its quite clear that said argument is paperweight and its supporters need to get reacquainted with reality. I dont want anyone cancelled, i want everyone to stop the nonsense. Equal rights doesnt have to mean ignoring science. Transgenders can be treated as women on a social whilst accepting the fact that they arent biologically women and therefore cannot occupy all of the same spaces or take on the same roles that women do. Transgenders need their own space to shine and shouldnt devalue others to gain it.

      • DeanD July 7, 2022

Saying someone should get fired for expressing their point of view is called canceling. Rationalize it to yourself however you will.

      • Scoopz July 7, 2022

And I since clarified what I want. So stop holding on to an irrelevant point. Or is that all you have to say? If you have nothing of value to add then dont take up space with your nothingness. It detracts from the people who want to support whats right and ensure a level playing field is achieved in a way that doesnt involving trampling on the rights of others.

      • DeanD July 7, 2022

Calling out your utter hypocrisy is enough. People on this site want to believe what they want. Try to talk science they reject it, try to talk sociology and it’s the same. We’re doomed as a nation and a world and it’s time I just accept it.

    • Scoopz July 7, 2022

Still clinging for dear life to a redundant point because you have nothing else to contribute beyond a featherweight argument. Science states a biological woman and a trans woman are not the same. It is a social construct to put these distinct groupings into the same space and treat them as the same. A construct that diminishes a woman and disregards their rights.

The fact that you would deny irrefutable science in order to protect your agenda highlights you as irrational, illogical and entirely without credibility. Be gone with your nonsense.

YESSSSS YOU JUST WENT OFFF!!! SMARTLY WORDED. AND ALL FACTS. YOU JUST MADE A WHOLE PLAN TO PROTECT TRANS THATS DOPE! ..UNLIKE MOST OF THESE DUMMIES SAD GAY MEN ON HERE CONSTANTLY HATING ON WOMEN.

  6. DeanD July 7, 2022

The internet is worrisome, I’ll grant her that much. But much like Will Smith, David Chappelle and Jussie Smollett, if I never hear from Macy Gray again that will be just fine.

  7. JK Rowling Stan July 7, 2022

Transvestites are insecure bc they know they’ll NEVER be women. I blame Gen Z and their constant crying about everything. The older trannys understand this FACT. They are still biologically MEN whether they had the surgery or not. Btw why isn’t the fact that so many trans end up de-transitioning a topic of discussion?! The s****** rates and depression after transitioning??? The regret!!! Being a woman is more than a feeling! I stand with U Macy. Don’t let those unhinged bullies intimidate you with their balls swinging under their panties.
